There is always a deep sense of mixed feelings when mentioning about Penang Chingay organization.
This organization has been in Penang for over 100 years. In 1999, Penang Pesta Festivals Chingay & Lion Dance Sub-committee in conjunction with the annual Pesta Festivals, celebrated grandly the centenary anniversary. Up to today, it is approaching the 107th anniversary.
Penang Chingay is a unique characteristic civil organization, it is also a traditional Chinese culture which the Chinese society is proud of, it spreads among the ethnic Chinese community and lasts forever. More >> |

From research, Chingay performance was originated from China, in 2003 when Chingay was invited to China Beijing for its performance, the spectators over there all expressed their surprises on such a magnificent performance.
The flag pole (bamboo pole) and the flag are the main materials for Chingay. The length of the flag pole ranges from 25 ft to 32 ft, the length of the flag is around 25 ft, the total weight of these materials is around 60 pounds. More >>
